How is your next level self behaving?
When you take the time to figure it out, your path becomes clearer.
Hi friends & new subscribers,
How are you?
I hope your week has been going well.
This week, I started an online program that focuses on your money mindset. It's a program that helps me understand my relationship with money. Did you know that we all have a relationship with money?
I'm also reading the book "Psychology of Money" by Morgan Housel. So the next month's theme will be about money.
You see, ever since I started my online journey, I've been attracting the opportunities I wanted for myself. I say attracting because I believe in the whole "what you put out there is what you'll get." It can sound a little woo-woo, but honestly, it's been such a fun and cool journey to be on.
And the fact that you're here is the evidence that it works.
At the beginning of the year, I wrote in my journal that I would have an online community, that I would be spreading my message (whatever that meant) and people who need to hear it will hear it. I also journaled that I would attract the right opportunities that I wanted - I got a taste of coaching, selling, and doing things out of my comfort zone, and they all felt good.
It wasn't sleazy, I didn't have to do it insincerely, which is what I was scared of. And most of all, I didn't have to fake it 'till I make it.
So, I've been getting the results that I've wanted except for the money part.
That's when I realized that I hadn't done the inner work when it comes to money, which is why I signed up for the online program.
On the first day, I realized how ingrained the belief that "I have to work hard to make money. I have to struggle to make it worth it". And I believe that it will take me more than a month (the duration of the program) to reprogram this belief.
But just that realization that I have to reprogram that belief felt like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders.
Because the very next day, my first freelancing project came to me on a silver platter. I didn't have to pitch to anyone. I didn't have to do hard work. Instead, it felt like fun and easy work.
It almost felt like, "this is too good to be true."
But I realize that things can be easy.
We have to choose it that way. I've seen this quote many times by Tim Ferris by asking yourself this question:
"What would this process look like if it were easy?"
Any time you get into a complicated thought pattern, situation, or experience, and you catch yourself feeling overwhelmed…Stop. Breathe. And ask yourself that question.
Embodying Your Next Level Self
It's funny that most people online find their communities because of their interests.
And one of those common communities you'll find yourself in is the "personal development journey." Although I've been on this journey for a few years now, only last year, when I hired my life/mindset/spiritual coach, it shifted. And today, I want to make you more aware of your next level self.
In a nutshell, humans are made of matter. We are all emitting energy, whether it's a high vibe or low vibe frequency. That's also why we get along with the people in the same vibe, or if you’re like me, don't get along with people who love to complain (since they're usually operating from a low vibe). Trust me. I thought this was all BS.
"Our human system is built of many different energy frequencies, each meant to interrelate with the others to allow for harmony and self-healing. As Quantum Science is showing us,
our thoughts
create various vibrations within our system that have the power to accentuate our own healing capacity - or destroy it. -
Dr. Sue Morter
I mention this because there's a strong correlation between the energy (the state you're in) to get your desired results. So whether that's having a successful online business or a peaceful life, you have to imagine and embody the person that already has that.
If your dream or goal is to become a successful online writer or entrepreneur, you have to learn how to access the thoughts, beliefs and behaviours that that person already has into the present. When that happens, you are putting yourself in the frequency of the same opportunities that next level you already have.
"Research has shown that shaping your future self requires "
deliberate practice
," or the ability to develop yourself towards a specific goal. You can't effectively grow without a direction to that growth; you need a clear goal to shape the process." - Benjamin Hardy on Harvard Business Review.
Hardy further states, "put simply, your behaviour in the present is largely shaped by your view of your own future. If your future is clear, exciting, and something you believe you can create, then your behaviour in the present will reflect that."
I always imagined myself having a peaceful morning routine and working on my laptop. I didn't know what I wanted to do with my laptop, but I knew it would be helping others. That's all I knew.
So, I started to develop a morning routine that I like, and that's when I stumbled upon writing. So, I wrote, and it felt good. So I wrote more and made that my priority because I knew that's what my next level self would do. Ironically, it wasn't hard to make it consistent because I already had a mourning routine in place.
It's been only less than six months of my writing journey, and every day, that path seems clearer. But only because I embodied my next level self.
This week, my question for you is this:
"What is your next level self doing? What are they thinking? How are they acting? How are they making decisions? How can you behave like that today and the following day, the next week and the next few months?"
