Hi friends & new subscribers!
It’s been a crazy week because I did something terrifying.
I decided to announce a small paid accountability group on Twitter! This idea came to me as I was doing a bunch of Zoom Calls in the past week. As I’m also a part of 3 different accountability groups, I realized the importance and power of it.
It seems so small but I think that it’s overlooked right now in the creator economy.
So I decided to experiment with this. I wanted to know if I could help a group of new creators meet their publishing goals online. When I was talking to other people, it seemed to me that everyone was worried about similar things - scared of their writing not being good enough, or that their work will be judged.
If everyone was thinking that they’re being judged, doesn’t that mean that no one is actually thinking about other people, but only of themselves?
I’ll let you process that thought.
Going with the flow
But anyway, as I go from idea to project, I realize the importance of going with the flow.
It seems to me that every successful entrepreneur is telling us to plan for all these things ahead of us, but sometimes going with the flow might also be useful.
I didn’t have any plan when I went to do those calls, but I came out with a lot of insights. And I think, it’s in these tiny actions, tiny steps that you can find what you’re looking for.
So, if you’re lost, stuck or uncertain about your next steps, I encourage you to shut down everything. Shut down your social media, your phone, and find some alone time. And just really ask yourself, “what do I need to do right now at this moment?”
And trust whatever comes up.
Because I have a feeling that it’s in that moment that you’ll find what you’re looking for.
And just do that every day, for the next week and see what comes up.
That’s all I have for this week.
Oh, and if you’ve been thinking of publishing online but haven’t found the courage to do so, I’m inviting you to be a part of a tiny group of small creators. Please fill this form out if you’re interested. If you’re confused and have no idea what I’m talking about, you can read it here.
I’ll be closing the application by Thursday, May 6th.
A question to reflect on this week:
“What do I need to do today to get to where I want to be in the next year?”
Lots of love,
Jerine
